Suraubi Rajendra
Hi! I am Suraubi and I am a third-year medic running for publicity officer for Gastroenterology society. To me, gastroenterology is not just fascinating but is an ever-evolving field with huge potential for future medical breakthroughs. The gut is more than just a digestive organ and has huge roles in immunity with its own intricate network connecting diet, disease and the microbiome. I feel compelled to contribute to Gastroenterology to ensure this society gets the attention it deserves from medical students!
My past experience of publishing infographics/ journals on medical topics at school has honed my ability to present scientific information in engaging and captivating ways. Along with this, as founder of First Aid Club in sixth form, I had multiple opportunities to attract students to training sessions through carefully crafted infographics and promotional materials. This has given me first-hand experience in building engagement from students of varying levels of interest in the field.
My vision:
- High-quality infographics and social media posts on key topics; gut health, nutrition, GI diseases
- Posters to promote society events/ guest speakers
- Interactive weekly “Myth vs Fact” series
I believe the future of Gastroenterology starts here and its importance deserves a louder voice in medical education. With my previous experience in medical publishing and event promotion, along with our enthusiastic current medical students, I am confident we can make the society much more engaging than before!
Thank you for reading. If you believe I am suitable for the role, vote for me!
