Anirudh Seenivasan
Hello everyone! My name is Anirudh, and I would be honoured to be your General Executive this year. Having completed a Lower GI surgical placement at Chelsea & Westminster, an Upper GI medical placement at West Middlesex & Ealing, and a Colorectal Surgery placement at Hillingdon Hospital, I have developed a strong interest in gastroenterology. I have scrubbed in and assisted in Hartmann’s procedures, hernia repairs, endoscopies, colonoscopies, and cholecystectomies, deepening my appreciation for the specialty.
Beyond my clinical experience, I have developed a diverse skill set through my roles in Doctorpreneurs, Acute Care, and Psychiatry Society, gaining expertise in event organisation, outreach, and marketing. As a researcher for NANSIG and IBSI, I aim to introduce a Research Insight Day to connect students with opportunities in gastroenterology.
As General Executive, I aim to introduce initiatives that enhance learning and career development:
- Teaching Series – Engaging sessions using my experience as a MedEd lecturer.
- Success of ‘Spill Your Guts’ Conference – Enhancing this event using my clinical connections.
- Exploring the Gut-Brain Axis – Talks and collaboration with Imperial and external societies.
- Career Talks in Gastroenterology – Insights into training pathways.
- CPA & OSCE Support for Abdominal Examinations – Expanding revision resources and mock sessions.
Finally, as a private tutor and cricket club captain, I have developed leadership and delegation skills, essential for working with the subcommittee. With my clinical experience, research background, and organisational skills, I am eager to contribute to the society. Thank you for your support :)
