Hi, I’m Arushi, and I would love to be your Paediatrics Conference Chair!

I have been actively involved in Paediatrics Society for the last two years through both Play Team and subcommittee. I loved the experience and gained a throrough understanding of the commitment needed to organize a conference, as well as the society’s collaborative and caring ethos.

I helped plan the recent paediatrics conference and have held roles in two of the biggest cultural societies at Imperial. I have gained valuable communication and networking skills, which will help secure an inspiring panel of speakers. As a strong team worker and leader, I will effectively delegate tasks within the subcommittee. I’m creative and know how to engage an audience, which will help publicize and market the conference for an excellent turnout.

I aim to:

• Get accreditation and collaborate with other paediatrics societies to expand the conference’s reach
• Make the conference engaging by tailoring workshops for different groups (e.g. 6th formers vs. 3rd-year students) and using polls to meet attendees’ interests
• Include a dedicated talk and workshop on upcoming paediatrics research at Imperial and guidance on getting involved
• Organise a Q&A session during the conference or designated networking time for attendees and speakers to connect
• Introduce a poster or essay challenge to add competition, teamwork, and fun! This will allow attendees to receive feedback from expert speakers, apply to national conferences, and win amazing prizes.

I am eager to carry the legacy forward and give my best to the role!
