Rhea Ponugubati
Hey, I’m Rhea, and I’m running for Academic Officer of Paediatrics Society! Having attended this year’s Meet the Paediatricians event, I was inspired by the enthusiasm and insight shared by professionals in the field. Now, I want to play a role in organizing high-quality academic events that help students excel in exams and explore careers in paediatrics—because let’s be honest, we could all use a little extra help surviving OSCEs!
I have experience organizing and coordinating events, having led tutoring workshops, revision sessions, and mentoring programs. I’ve worked with multiple stakeholders to handle logistics, speaker bookings, and event execution, ensuring smooth and engaging sessions. My background in public speaking, teamwork, and event planning makes me well-suited to lead the academic aspects of the society—plus, I promise I’ll never leave you on ‘read’ when you need a mock PACES session!
If elected, I will:
-
Organize Y5 PACES lectures, mocks, and Year 3/5 revision sessions with structured, high-quality teaching.
-
Launch a Paeds Revision Buddy Scheme, pairing Year 5s with Year 3s for OSCE prep and exam support.
-
Introduce Paediatrics Clinical Skills Workshops on newborn exams, neonatal resuscitation, and growth chart interpretation.
-
Enhance Meet the Paediatricians with speed networking for personalized career insights.
-
Utilize our Instagram page to gather feedback and shape future events.
It would be an honour to contribute to the student community by making PaedsSoc a hub for academic excellence and career inspiration!
