Elakya Saravanakumar

Hi, my name is Elakya, I’m a third-year medical student and I am running for the role of Vice President (Marketing) of ICSM Psychiatry Society.

Having served as the Publicity Officer for the past year, I have gained invaluable experience in promoting our society, engaging with members and other societies, and gaining insight into how the society runs behind the scenes. I now want to step up and take on a leadership position to help expand and give back to such a wholesome, academic society.

As Vice President (Marketing), my priorities will be to enhance engagement and expand educational opportunities. We could host events such as networking receptions and educational lectures throughout the year - this would provide more online and in-person opportunities for students to get involved with psychiatry. I also believe more than one social would be beneficial as it was such a nice, chill way to introduce students to the committee and society.

I have built up my organisational skills throughout the years, having put on large-scale events such as proms at school and so Vice President is a role I believe I would thrive in and definitely put my all into. With my experience and enthusiasm. I am confident in my ability to elevate the Psychiatry Society as a whole and would be grateful if you supported me in this role.
