Swim and Waterpolo: London League Swimming Captain

After five years away from competitive swimming, I returned to the sport with uncertainty about whether I could regain my previous form. It was a slow and often frustrating process, but through consistent training and perseverance, I not only rebuilt my technique and fitness but also achieved new personal bests. This journey has given me a deep appreciation for the challenges swimmers face—whether returning to the sport, pushing for PBs, or simply striving to improve.

I am standing for BUSL Swim Captain because I want to support our team in both competition logistics and performance. Having competed at BUCS level, I understand the importance of efficient race sign-ups, clear communication, and organized event planning. I aim to ensure that every swimmer can focus on racing without unnecessary stress.

Beyond logistics, I believe in fostering an environment where everyone feels prepared and motivated. Through my own experience, I’ve learned that effective training isn’t just about swimming fast but about having the right race strategy, preparation, and mindset. I want to contribute by helping structure race-focused training, supporting teammates with pacing strategies, and ensuring our team is ready to compete at its best.

Swimming has shaped my discipline and resilience, and I want to give back by making competitions smoother, training more effective, and the team atmosphere more supportive. If elected, I will work to ensure that every member of our team has the resources and encouragement they need to succeed.
