Amelia Shabir

Hi everyone! I’m Amelia, a 3rd yr medical student, and I’m running for a position on the RAG General Committee!

I have always loved being part of events that bring people together, and my experience reflects that. As a Playteam leader, I have managed and coordinated a group of eight volunteers, ensuring smooth-running sessions to support children in hospital. Being in a leadership role has taught me the importance of teamwork, communication, and organisation—skills that I would bring to RAG. Additionally, I have experience planning conferences as part of various medical school subcommittees, which has given me insight into what it takes to organise large-scale events successfully. Having attended many ICSM events, I know just how special they are, and I want to contribute to making RAG’s classic events as memorable as possible.

I am friendly, approachable, and always open to hearing new ideas. If elected, I would work hard to ensure that RAG events are exciting and well-run. If you want someone who is committed, experienced, and passionate about making these events the best they can be, I would love your vote!
