Medical Education: Early Years Coordinator

Hello, my name is Aadit and I would like to be your MedEd Early Years Coordinator this year. I am running for this role as I really enjoy teaching and want to help early-year medical students build a strong foundation in both academics and clinical skills. Having benefited from great teaching myself, I know how much of a difference good support and resources can make. As part of the ICSM community, I want to make sure every student has access to the help they need to succeed in their studies.

Over the past couple of years, I've been actively involved in medical teaching, from delivering lectures, to examining mocks. These experiences have shown me the common challenges students face and how to make teaching more engaging. As E&E Welfare Officer, I've gained experience in organising events, working with different student groups, and making sure initiatives run smoothly. As coordinator, I want to use these experiences to organise well-structured teaching sessions that help early-year students build confidence and improve their skills.

Some of my goals for the role include:

Improving Learning Resources – I want to make sure early-year students have access to clear, useful study materials such as revision guides.

Run Useful and Engaging Teaching Sessions – I’ll organise structured tutorials that focus on what students actually find difficult, making revision more effective.

Work with Others to Improve Teaching – I’ll collaborate with other medical student groups to ensure our sessions are well-organised and genuinely helpful for early-year students.
