Hi everyone, my name is Param and I’m running to be your Early Years Coordinator!
Having used MedEd’s resources in first and second year, I know how invaluable they are in helping navigate the huge amount of content – and I want to make them even better!
I’m hugely passionate about teaching, having written mock exams and run tutorials for Muslim Medics. Later this year, you'll also see me teaching in Surgical Society’s Junior Anatomy Series and MedEd’s very own POM crash course.
In first year, I achieved 2nd in my cohort (with the help of MedEd!), which I believe shows I know the content students need to focus on.
My main aims for the upcoming year are:
- Improve the question bank resources for POM, BRS, Anatomy and LMAP – especially more SAQs! If elected, I’ll focus on making several full mocks for each exam.
- Make CSI crash courses more closely aligned with the content covered by consulting with students in the respective year. I'd also make the accompanying notes for each case shorter, focussing on high-yield information!
- Host in-person (and online) revision sessions for Anatomy and CPA, as well as drop-in revision sessions for POM, BRS and LMAP.
- Run a tutorial in first year to teach students how to best use revision platforms such as Anki.
- Introduce support for portfolio building and engaging in research opportunities.
