Hi, I’m Rama! I’m a BSc Rep running to be your MedEd Year 4 Co-ordinator!

Going through this year myself, I greatly appreciated the support MedEd was able to offer and appreciate the tutors who took the time to show their exemplar ICAs.

As the Cardio academic representative, I’ve gained valuable student feedback not just from my own BSc but additionally from other BSc’s at termly meetings. This means, I'm very aware of the discrepancy in support and differences in assessment.

Hence, I’m running to ensure there is centralised, student-provided support that works for all BSc’s.

Here’s how:

• Improving ICA Talks
  • Collaborative Tutorials: ICA expectations/briefs differ between BSc’s - asking tutors with different BSc backgrounds to collaborate on talks would mean they can apply more broadly.
  • Earlier talks so BSc’s with mock formatives are provided support in time AND BSc’s who are not offered mock formatives can have earlier and clearer ICA instructions
• Introducing NEW talks
  • Data Analysis Tutorial with Statistics Worksheet & Answers to better support students with ICA3!
  • Time Management Talk for ICA4/5 so Year-4 students can better manage January!
  • Talks for unique BScs such as Global Health, HPL, Bio-Eng and Management
• Increasing Support
  • MedEd BSc Buddies so 4th-years always have a helpful MedEd 5th-year
  • Supervisor selection- Work with last years BSc reps to develop a project selection guide catered to each BSc

My goal is to make 4th year as stress-free as possible! Regardless of BSc - student support should be available to everyone 🙂
