Mia Cameron
Hello! My name is Mia, and I am running for the position of Year 4 Medical Education Officer. As we embark on our intercalated Bachelor's year, I believe it’s essential to bridge the gap between our specialized studies and the first three years of medical knowledge we will return to.
While focusing on our intercalated studies, it’s essential that we still develop the key skills required for clinical practice. I will work to provide resources for clinical skill refreshers, as well as professional development opportunities tailored to Year 4 students. Whether it’s workshops, peer-led teaching, or online resources, I’ll make sure that you have access to everything you need to maintain and enhance your medical skills, ensuring that we are ready to return to clinical placements after our intercalated year.
In addition to academic and clinical skills, I recognize that Year 4 can be a particularly challenging time, especially with the shift to intercalated studies. Maintaining mental and physical wellbeing is essential during this period. As your Education Officer, I will prioritize wellbeing by ensuring that you have access to resources and support systems that promote balance and resilience.
I am fully committed to making Year 4 the best it can be for all of us. My passion for supporting our cohort through this unique year, ensuring we stay connected to medicine, combined with my strong organizational skills, makes me the ideal candidate to help us navigate this year successfully and provide the support we need to thrive.
