My Relevant Experience
As Vice Chair at Imperial Entrepreneurs during 2024-2025, I've developed transferable leadership skills that would make me an effective Hackathon Coordinator for DoCSoc:
- Event Management: Successfully organized IdeaForge, Imperial's startup incubator program across two terms—coordinating logistics, scheduling, and participant communications for 100+ attendees.
- Workshop Leadership: Delivered an engaging product development workshop introducing technical concepts like the Lean Canvas model, demonstrating my ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Speaker Coordination: Secured and hosted external speakers including Stefano Giacone from Genoa Entrepreneurship School, showing my capability to build valuable industry connections.
If elected as Hackathon Coordinator, I will:
- Develop Diverse Hackathon Themes: Create coding events that appeal to various interests within computing, from AI and machine learning to web development and cybersecurity.
- Secure Strong Sponsorships: Leverage my experience in building corporate relationships to attract tech company partnerships, better prizes, and industry mentors.
- Create Inclusive Events: Ensure hackathons are accessible to students of all experience levels, with beginner tracks and pre-hackathon workshops.
My experience building and supporting communities at Imperial Entrepreneurs has prepared me to create engaging, well-organized hackathons that showcase DoC students' talents while building technical skills and professional networks. I'm excited to bring my organizational expertise to DoCSoc's hackathon program.
