Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine: Conference Officer
PHEM Talks are one of the most important parts of the society, alongside the AOPs (Ambulance observer programme) and Trauma Placements we do. Engaging and insightful talks rely on strong connection with external speakers and organisation. Here is how I plan to take PHEM Talks to the next level:
- Connection - Having been to clinical governance days with the London’s Air Ambulance, I have built connections and introduced our society to various stakeholders and professionals. This will bridge the gap and open the door for us to potentially invite Air Ambulance doctors as speakers to share exciting stories on cases they have been on.
- Communication - A successful event is only as strong as its audience. Setting clear communication channels between the student body and the talks we host is important. I hope to promote and ensure our talks are well advertised to increase awareness and participation, maximising the growth of our society's presence within ICSM.
- Conference - We have never had our own PHEM conference - this will change. I plan to introduce a full day of Pre-hospital medicine workshops, simulations and guest speakers from different disciplines of first responders, and if possible, perhaps even arranging emergency vehicles to visit Imperial!
I would really appreciate your vote and I promise to do everything in my capability to spread my passion in PHEM, ensuring our society is a leading platform for learning and inspiring students in the field of pre-hospital medicine whilst bringing new opportunities to our members.
