Computational Biology: Vice Chair

Hello everyone! I'm Arjun, and I'm excited to stand for Chair of the IC Computational Biology Society.

About Me
I’m deeply passionate about harnessing computational techniques to tackle biological challenges. From decoding complex genomic data to modelling intricate protein interactions, I believe that the future of medicine and research lies at the intersection of biology and computational science. With hands-on experience in data analysis, coding, and interdisciplinary collaboration, I'm ready to drive our society into an era of innovation.

Vision for the Society
I envision our society as a vibrant hub where computational methods empower us to solve real-world biological problems. Here’s what I have in mind for the year ahead:

  • BioHACKS: Who said computational biology isn’t hands-on? Imagine immersive coding workshops, machine learning hackathons, and data visualization challenges that bring theoretical concepts to life. These sessions will offer a practical edge, letting you experiment with tools like molecular docking simulations and digital modelling of cellular systems.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaborations: I plan to forge partnerships with DataScienceSoc, DocSoc, and other tech and medical societies to create a cross-disciplinary network. This collaboration will pave the way for seminars, joint projects, and workshops that enhance your skills—from advanced big data analytics to AI-driven research methods.

  • Networking & Mentorship: Expect a calendar brimming with networking events, mentorship programs with industry experts, and alumni talks.

  • Interactive Events & Social Mixers: Alongside technical workshops, I’m eager to organize fun and engaging events—think themed socials, collaborative problem-solving nights, and even a computational biology karaoke night!
