Paphon Susikakosol

Hello! I'm Paphon (he/him). I'm a 3rd year student, and I'm standing for PhySoc's Cultural Diversity & Outreach Officer.

For the first time, student outreach work is incorporated into PhySoc's committee, and I'm ready to lead this change. I bring with me 3 years experience of doing physics outreach work to schoolchildren, along with connections with Outreach staff from both the College and the Department. It's been heartening to see partcicipants of these programmes get into physics and join our community, and I would like to continue that. I will work with the Student Liaison Officer and the Physics Outreach team to improve existing outreach programmes and create new ones, and increase opportunities for you to help out with those programmes.

I will continue to celebrate our community's incredible diversity and range of cultures, which means a lot to me as an international student. I will work with the committee on more cultural events, such as a Lunar New Year social. I will work, as an ally, with networks like WNBIP, the LGBT+ network, and the Blackett Lab Family, on how we can make both PhySoc and the Department more inclusive.
