My name is Tarni, and I am a second-year medical student who would be privileged to serve as Treasurer for the Haematology Society.

Haematology is a crucial field which is widely integrated in a multitude of other specialities. I understand the importance of having a strong committee to run events efficiently and successfully, and I believe I am a strong candidate who will contribute my skills to support the society's goals.

My attention to detail and analytical skills will enable me to diligently manage the necessary responsibilities of treasurer, including overseeing finances, liaising with Union when necessary and conducting risk assessments for events. This role will also allow me to collaborate closely with the Sponsorship Officer and Presidents to ensure that all events stay within budget, and any transactions are meticulously recorded. Effective teamwork and communication are key to success, and I have demonstrated these qualities in my committee position with the Imperial Tamil Society.

I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the society’s success through responsible financial management—an essential element in many of the successful events run by the Haematology Society. Working with like-minded individuals who share a passion for the critical and essential field of haematology would be a fantastic opportunity.
