I am excited to apply for the role of Treasurer of the Blockchain Society. With a strong passion for blockchain technology and decentralised financial systems, I believe in the power of decentralisation to create a fairer, more transparent, and more efficient world.
As a Mathematics student, I have developed strong analytical and problem-solving skills that are essential for managing the society’s finances. My experience in various roles—ranging from volunteering at the Great Exhibition Road Festival, helping to recruit imperial singers at the Kensington Chamber Choir to funding rasing for my Royal Park Half Marathon—has strengthened my organisational and finance skills. Additionally, my experience as a self-employed piano teacher as well as managing my own saving in terms of equity and crypto assets has given me the financial discipline and responsibility needed for handling society budgets effectively.
I strongly support the transition to proof of stake over proof of work, recognising its benefits in reducing environmental impact while maintaining security and decentralisation. I also envision a future where blockchain technology is no longer associated with criminal activities such as money laundering or cyberattacks, like the recent Dubai platform hack. By promoting breakthroughs in cryptography and advocating for ethical blockchain applications, I aim to contribute to a safer and more widely accepted blockchain ecosystem.
If elected as Treasurer, I will ensure secure funding for impactful events, and support new society projects. I look forward to bringing my organisational skills and passion for decentralised finance to this role.
