Respiratory Medicine: Treasurer

Dear reader: the phrase “money makes the world go round” should be no stranger to your ears. As someone experienced in budget management, fundraising, organization, and communication, I’m confident I’m able to make every penny count toward RespSoc operations.

Firstly, with £10,000, I organized every aspect of AMSA’s exchange program to Singapore. This allowed me to develop invaluable budget planning and record-keeping proficiencies.

Another core part of my portfolio I hope to bring to InciSioN is my fundraising experience. My bake sales have been instrumental in supplying the financial lifeblood for Polydemia’s charitable educational operations. Liaising with sponsors such as MDU and Amboss when organizing Imperial’s Young Researchers Conference and Orthopaedics Society Conference has additionally made me a persuasive communicator and negotiator.

My organizational capacity is best exemplified during my tenure as intern team leader for the EU. Throughout their Hi-Prix project, I not only coordinated regular meetings, but by delegating tasks according to each team member’s strengths and feedback, I ensured that we consistently met my deadlines, streamlining data collection.

I plan to reach out to academic institutions, global health entities, and corporate social responsibility agencies for sponsorships. To accomplish this, I’ll apply proven outreach methods on email and LinkedIn that I’ve used to acquire over 50 clinician contacts. Exploring innovative fundraising methods like online crowdfunding and donation challenges would constitute another of my top priorities.

Lastly, I wish to apply a treasurer’s unique perspective to enhance RespSoc by publishing quarterly reports, contributing to financial transparency within the committee.
