Oncology: Sponsorship Officer

My name is Tarni, and I am a second-year medical student with the privilege of applying for the role of Sponsorship Officer for the Oncology Society.

I am deeply passionate about advancing cancer care and through effective sponsorship, I believe this can create valuable opportunities to educate others, through conferences and workshops, who share a like-minded interest in oncology.

Being on the subcommittee last year, I understand what is needed for the seamless running of this society. Strong sponsorships contributed to the huge success of the Surgical Oncology Conference, which I was able to participate in, and provided an incredible opportunity to explore virtual reality in medicine.

In my previous experiences, I have shown strong communication skills while assisting in securing sponsors for an annual show with the Imperial Tamil Society, as part of the committee. I can identify suitable sponsors whose values align with those of the Oncology Society and who can contribute to its success. I recognize the importance of building strong relationships with sponsors and am committed to finding the optimal balance when communicating with them.

I am confident in my ability to organize strategic sponsorships that will enhance the society and support its goals. By securing sponsors, I aim to contribute to raising awareness and funding for crucial cancer research. I intend to collaborate with various sponsors to expose the society and students to a range of opportunities, helping the society grow and reach its full potential.
