Hi, I am Ashley Park, a first-year Biomedical Engineering student and a current arm team member, running for Sponsorship Officer. Working on our prosthetic arm project has ignited my passion to share our work and contribute to its improvement. So, if you wish to expand our project, vote for me! Through this role, I aim to promote the prosthetics society, gain more attention and funding, and help the society grow as a whole. This will support members in transforming their groundbreaking ideas into reality and excelling at Cybathlon 2028.
Key Plans:
- Develop a comprehensive project portfolio: create and maintain an up-to-date document introducing our project, describing its progress, and highlighting its potential, suitable for distribution to potential sponsors and funders.
- Host a public showcase event: organize an open event where we can showcase our prototype, gather feedback, and connect with potential sponsors and funders.
- Keep social media (Instagram) active: inform people of our progress, showing the step-by-step development of the project, and attract wider public attention, which will appeal to potential sponsors and funders.
- Implement fundraising strategies: organize fundraising activities such as prosthetics-making competitions with limited resources, mini Cybathlon or pub quiz nights.
My experience within the arm team has given me valuable insight into the project's needs and potential. On top of that, my past experiences as a team lead or class president have strengthened my communication and organization skills, which will ensure we secure sponsorships and build strong partnerships.
