Dennis Jian

My name is Dennis Jian, and I am a first-year EFDS student. Beyond my current role as Year 1 Academic Rep, I aim to enhance EFDS from academic, career, and extracurricular standpoints.

I firmly believe that EFDS Soc has the tools and resources to provide us with experiences that combine career pursuits, extracurricular passions, and intellectual curiosity. Having attended many EFDS Soc events, I have learned a lot from the offerings and events hosted. I hope to build on the foundation that Leonard has established to offer more career, extracurricular, and academic events.

From a career standpoint, I plan to set up more networking opportunities and high-profile talks for those interested in gaining workplace insights in fields such as investment banking, quant trading, and consulting. I also want to leverage the connections and professional staff in the business school to provide more talks on academic subjects, such as an introduction to corporate finance and machine learning. For extracurriculars, I believe that EFDS is a tight-knit community, and we need more social events ranging from sports to formal dinners.

Through this role as EFDS Soc President, I hope to use all the resources that EFDS Soc has to deliver a community and experience that fosters inclusion, passion, and growth.
