Orthopaedics Society: Treasurer

Hello! My name is Jathu, and I am a second-year medical student with a passion for orthopaedics. I would like to serve our society as Treasurer, committed to ensuring that our society thrives financially so we can continue to grow, learn, and create valuable opportunities for every member.

If elected, I aim to do the following:

  • Seek sponsorships and fundraising opportunities — This will allow us to host high-quality workshops, events, and guest lectures while keeping memberships free and tickets as affordable as possible.
  • Student-focused budgeting — I will manage funds to ensure that we get the most value out of every pound, maximising your orthopaedic learning experience.
  • Transparent management of funds — I'll maintain clear, detailed financial records and provide regular updates to show you exactly how funds are being used.
  • Introduce budget forecasting — I will create financial forecasts to help plan long-term projects, ensuring financial stability for future initiatives.
  • Communicate with society members — I’ll connect with both the committee and society members to make sure funds are allocated towards the initiatives they care most about.

I bring organisation, diligence, and a proactive mindset to this role. My experience balancing academic commitments while contributing to extracurricular activities has taught me how to handle responsibility and work collaboratively — skills I’ll use to make a positive impact as Treasurer.

I am genuinely excited about the potential of our society and believe that together, we can build an even stronger community for aspiring orthopaedic professionals.
