Serra Yenilmez

Hello everyone! I’m Serra, a first-year Biology student, and I am excited to run for Head of Subcommittee in the FemTech Society!

FemTech is a field that inspires me, and I would love to contribute to its growth this year by expanding opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and industry engagement.

I discovered my passion for FemTech while participating in a Hackathon project last year, where I designed a product aimed at relieving menstrual pain. This experience deepened my interest in the intersection of biotechnology and women’s health, driving me to explore the field further. Attending the FemTech Society’s Biotech Startup Conference in February 2025 reinforced my belief that combining scientific advancements with business innovation is key to progress in medical technology. If elected, I aim to expand industry partnerships to create more opportunities for students to connect with experts in biotech startups, venture capital, and FemTech entrepreneurship.

With leadership experience in committees and societies since high school, I have developed skills in event planning, teamwork, and strategic collaboration. Now, I want to use this experience in FemTech Society to contribute to their already existing powerful dynamic for networking and innovation.
