Evelyn Cannon
Hi everyone! I’m Evelyn, a second-year Medical Biosciences student, and I’m very excited to run for FemTechs Conference Chair. Attending the FemTech conference this year was an incredibly transformative experience, showcasing how innovation can bridge gaps in women’s health. I’d love to bring my energy and experience to lead the next FemTech Conference that inspires others the way it inspired me!
Why me?
As Head of Events for SWEnext (Society of Women Engineers) in high school, I have experience organizing many interscholastic STEM seminars and science competitions that united students across multiple year groups. I learned how to organize events that spark curiosity, foster collaboration, and leave lasting impact (all within a tight budget!)—skills I’ll channel into making the 2026 conference as impactful as possible.
My vision: Here are a few of my initial ideas
- Broaden our reach: FemTech isn’t just for life sciences! I’ll actively engage students in tech, engineering, business, and beyond, cultivating inclusivity in women’s health across multiple disciplines.
- Your voice, our agenda: I’ll run polls and questionnaires to hear your requests for speakers and topics. Want a startup founder? An upcoming pioneer in women’s health research? A male ally? Let’s make it happen!
- Spark connections: I want to prioritize hands-on workshops, live Q&As, and networking “speed-dating” with inspiring speakers, keeping the energy high and paving way for lasting partnerships.
Together, let’s build a conference that educates, empowers, and excites! Thank you for your consideration and I would really appreciate your vote :)
