FemTech: Conference Chair

Hi, my name is Aishah and I’m a second-year medical student running for Conference Chair in FemTech!

As someone who has been personally impacted by an under-researched medical condition (PCOS), I am deeply devoted to raising awareness of women’s health issues. My own experiences navigating healthcare, coupled with witnessing the gender bias that unfortunately exists within medicine, have only strengthened my commitment to this.

I’ve gained valuable event-planning experience in my roles as running the “Introduction to the SFP 2024” talk as the SFP Lead for SORA, as well as helping out in conferences as Secretary for both NeuroSoc and EndoSoc, and finally the representative for the Horizons Department. I am confident these skills of leadership and communication will allow me to lead a successful conference that is informative, engaging, and impactful.

The opportunity to lead FemTech Society’s conference would allow me to create a platform where these critical conversations can take place. I want to organise an event that not only highlights under-researched conditions impacting women, but also educates attendees on the wider issues of gender bias in healthcare, and the need for innovation in women's health technology. By inviting experts, healthcare professionals, and those with lived experiences to share their knowledge, I aim to create an event that empowers individuals to advocate for better care and more inclusive healthcare solutions.

I would love your vote!

Thank you!
