Ved Sakhi
Hi, I’m Vedant, and I’m running to be the WATCHH Officer for Vision next year!
Medicine is an incredibly competitive field, and for many aspiring medics—especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds—the journey can feel overwhelming. I know this firsthand. Without the guidance and support I received from older students, I wouldn’t be where I am today. Their mentorship gave me the confidence, direction, and knowledge I needed to succeed, and that’s exactly what I want to give back through this role.
As WATCHH Officer, I’d ensure that every aspiring medic who needs support gets access to guidance from those who’ve been through it all before. I genuinely believe in the power of mentorship, and I want to strengthen this initiative so that no student feels lost or unsure about their future.
In terms of leadership, my experience as cricket captain for my local team has taught me how to manage a group, communicate effectively, and bring out the best in people. I love working collaboratively and know how important teamwork is in running a successful initiative like WATCHH.
If elected, I’ll work hard to expand the program, ensuring mentors are well-prepared and mentees are matched with the right people to help them thrive. I want to make this system as effective and accessible as possible.
Thank you for reading—I’d love the opportunity to contribute to Vision in this role, and I hope to have your support! :)
