Anirudh Seenivasan
Hi, my name is Anirudh, and I am looking forward to evolving NeuroSoc’s neurosurgical presence. With experience as a research collaborator in the ‘DATES audit’ for NANSIG, and a researcher for the Imperial Brain and Spine Initiative, I have built a strong foundation in neurosurgical research. I have also built a diverse set of skills through roles in Doctorpreneurs, Acute Care, and Psychiatry society. I decided to pursue this passion by gaining clinical observerships in neurosurgery, which have allowed me to foster connections with top neurosurgeons. To further engage members in neurosurgery, I am to:
- Strengthen networking between neurosurgeons and members of our society to foster a sense of community and mentorship for future opportunities.
- Collaborate with external organisations such as BrainSchool to provide educational neurosurgery seminars on niche topics such as normal pressure hydrocephalus.
- Initiate a neurosurgical speaker series –educating you members on the application process for neurosurgery, possible career pathways, work life balance and talks on subspecialties.
- As stated in my Neurosoc president campaign, to initiate a hands-on ‘Neurosurgical Workshop Day’ to explore unique skills such as ventriculoperitoneal shunt placement, EVD placement and emergency craniotomy.
- Establish a Neurosurgical Research Incubator & Journal club – monthly journal club and collaboration with neurosurgeons to offer short-term research assistant positions; including sessions on how to publish and write abstracts.
My primary goal as Neurosurgical lead is to promote neurosurgical events and ensure that Neurosoc continues to thrive.
Thank you for your consideration :)
