Suraubi Rajendra
Hi, I am Suraubi, and I am excited to share my manifesto for the role of Events officer for Haematology society. To me, haematology is the basis of life. Blood is not just a matter of substance; it carries oxygen, fights infections and plays crucial roles in sustaining human life. With my passion for haematology and previous experiences in running events successfully, I am confident I can contribute to improving this society’s reach among medical students.
My aims:
- Academic opportunities; arranging for guest speakers and panel discussions to allow for interactive workshops for students
- Encouraging participation within the society; introducing more social events and initiatives to strengthen our community
- Promoting career development through a mentorship scheme; working closely with key professionals in the field to support students interested in pursuing careers in haematology
- Proposing a new journal club for the society so that students have tailored guidance from top researchers
I believe I will be well suited to this role as I have previously run educational events alongside my violin teacher when training for my diploma as well as currently being Events officer in MWF society. These opportunities have given me the experience of working under pressure to achieve optimal results and I believe the organisational skills I have taken away from them have been outstanding and can be taken forward to a similar role.
