Hi, I’m Tom Richardson, a first-year Machine Learning and Data Science Master’s student at Imperial, also working as a Data and Machine Learning Engineer at a startup. Outside of AI, I’m passionate about chess and running.
Graduating from Warwick in 2021, I’ve seen first-hand how a strong alumni network benefits students post-university. Through the Warwick Chess Alumni Society, I’ve gained maintained friendships, networking opportunities and supported undergraduates as they transition into professional life. I want to bring the same value to the AI Society by building a thriving alumni network.
As Alumni Coordinator, I will:
- Expand the alumni group – Actively reach out to Imperial graduates now working within AI and invite them to join.
- Facilitate mentorship – Connect students with alumni for career advice, job opportunities, and industry insights.
- Organize events – Host networking sessions, panels, and informal meet-ups to foster long-term relationships.
- Ensure lasting engagement – Create active online communities with trust and camaraderie at the centre, to start the flywheel of sustainable alumni involvement.
A strong alumni network is invaluable for career growth, mentorship, and maintaining connections in AI and I’m excited to build this with my experience in alumni engagement and my passion for community-building,
