Ammar Motala
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
My name is Ammar, a third-year medic and it would be an honour to serve as your next President of Muslim Medics.
Muslim Medics has always been more than a society to me - it’s a community, a support system and a reminder of our identity and purpose. I want to give back by strengthening MM as a home for every Muslim medic, supporting academic growth, spiritual development and welfare.
Through my work with Medology, I’ve helped hundreds of students get into medical school. I plan to revamp PotMed to ensure every attendee leaves confident, informed and inspired, with an actionable plan. I will also enhance MM’s education stream by creating practical exam guides, improving tutorials and expanding mock exams through partnerships like Preclinique.
As Charity Week Head last year, I saw the importance of community and wellbeing. My plans for Outreach & Wellbeing include fostering spiritual growth, engaging in local community initiatives, providing career development events and collaborating with STEMM and ISoc to support Muslim students and broader Muslim affairs.
Lastly, I want to focus on committee development, ensuring members grow as leaders, develop valuable skills and deepen their Islamic faith through team tarbiyyah.
The Prophet ﷺ said, “Verily, Allah loves when one of you does a job, he does it with ihsan (excellence).” I will hold myself and the team to this standard to take MM to the next level - Insha’Allah with your support.
