Arany Nanthakumaran

Hello! I’m Arany, and I’m excited to run for Junior Treasurer this year.

Being an active attendee at most events and organising Games night with the rest of the sub-committee has been thoroughly enjoyable. The growth and community fostered through this society has welcomed me comfortably and I want to be able to do the same for the next cohort too.

As Treasurer, my goal is simple: to ensure our finances never limit our ideas.

I’ll work to manage our budget responsibly and transparently, making sure funds are allocated effectively across all types of events. With better planning, I believe we can run even more exciting events next year, from chill socials to more “partying” events, all while keeping things accessible. I also hope to explore sponsorships and funding opportunities to give the society even more room to grow.

I’ve also had experience running Culture Day at my school, where I was given a budget to organise the event. I was responsible for allocating funds: an experience that taught me the importance of financial planning.

Through my math-heavy course, I’ve gained strong mathematical and analytical skills and I’m confident working with Excel and spreadsheets to manage finances clearly and efficiently.

As someone that wants to go into finance, I think the experience I would gain from this position would aid in my future. I believe that my background and future prospects align well with the role of Treasurer and I hope that I have your vote.
