It’s been a massive privilege to be your treasurer this past year.
It has been at times, truly humbling, and I’ve learnt a bit too much about myself, but I’ve loved every bit of it. The culture we embody is like a contagious warm-and-fuzzy feeling and Music Soc has been part of some of the most incredible experiences of uni life so far. The memories I’ve made here will stick with me till I’m grey and wrinkly.
As secretary, I’d love to foster the amazing community that I’ve gained so much from and continue Gaya’s amazing work!
Over the years, I’ve picked up little skills here and there that I believe will help in this role. As Social Sec, I’ve had to write risk assessments and make ad hoc room bookings and my knowledge as Treasurer will help streamline stash purchases. Even with the unpredictability of the Union (as they continue pretending to improve the student experience), my adaptability and willingness to learn will fill the gaps to ensure the smooth running of the society.
Secretary embodies everything I’ve loved doing so far including all the behind-the-scenes admin that keeps the wheels of the society turning. I’ve learnt that being on committee requires real dedication and commitment, and I believe I can carry this forward into my next role.
I will give this role everything I’ve got, and I cannot wait to find out what lies ahead for Music Soc!
