Cormac Doherty

Hi everyone, I’m Cormac and if it isn’t already apparent from my attendance at Music Soc socials, I am jobless. So vote for me to have a job pls !! I absolutely ADORE music soc and would devote myself to the AMAZEBALLS socials !!

My main aims would include:

• Focusing on Fresher retention – this year showed an increase in the number of Freshers consistently attending rehearsals and socials. I would love to see a similar Fresher intake next year and would like to set up an officially assigned music family system which could merge with the academic tutoring system in later years (e.g. CPA tutors). This would give the incoming Freshers an immediate point of contact within the society and foster a familial atmosphere within the society.

• Increase the number of whole society socials – there are currently limited opportunities for the entire society to meet up which can lead to splits between the different ensembles. Increasing the number of whole society socials and further advertisement in each ensemble group chat would hopefully improve engagement from the entirety of the society.

• Provide further assistance to the VC – helping organise events like WA and Christmas dinner would decrease the VC’s workload allowing them to dedicate more time to other exec jobs.
