Anik Mitra

Hi I'm Stevie (aka Anik), and as a regularly playing member of the 3rd XI for 3 years, I would love to give back to this team, that has improved my confidence so much as a player, by being next year's 3rd XI captain.

I've seen how important it is to manage the highs and lows; whether its your keeper dropping a regulation nick on a hat-trick ball, a 10 off 21 in a LUSL game or brutal wins against the Medics and LSE 3s, staying positive no matter the outcome is something I will prioritise.

My vision for the 3s:

Better fielding for LUSL - Having played most LUSL games, I've noticed games are won and lost in the field. I'll encourage squad players (including myself) to practice basic ground fielding in the off-season.

Use the 3s as a proving ground - For those wanting promotion to the 2s, I'll harness that drive to get their best performance. Players performing out of their skin to earn their place improves both individual standards and team results.

More responsible batting for BUCS - In nets, I'll encourage bowlers to set fields and be stricter with batters playing aerial shots. We have strong bowling but collapse too often when batting.
