Hi everyone!
I’m Penny, a first-year chemistry student, and I am running for Events Officer of ChemSoc. Let’s be honest—chemistry is tough, but the memories we make at ChemSoc events always keep us going! I want to create moments that bring us together, whether we’re excited over groundbreaking research or dancing the night away at the Christmas Dinner.
As the current President of the Beit Hall Committee, I’ve gained hands-on experience organising events, running meetings, and managing teams. I’ve learned how to turn ideas into reality, juggle budgets, and make sure everyone has a great time. I promise to pour out the same passion into building events you won’t want to miss.
Here’s what I’ll bring to the table:
- Talks: Collaborate with the department to bring inspiring guest speakers on topics that spark your curiosity.
- Socials: From regular coffee drop-ins to our Freshers' Week welcome events, I'll create opportunities to relax and make friends across all year groups.
- Christmas Dinner: A highlight of the year, with careful planning to make it festive, inclusive, and unforgettable!
It is all about creativity, teamwork, and making things happen. If you’ve got wild ideas or just a chat about events, come find me—let’s make this year’s ChemSoc calendar the perfect mix of fun, useful, and stress-free!
