Lawrence Liego
Hey everyone! I’m Gerald, a first-year Biochemistry student, and I’m running for the role of RCSU Vice President (Activities).
Starting university was a big adjustment, everything felt new and unfamiliar. But the RCSU has made this transition so much easier. Through its amazing events, I was able to meet people with shared interests and truly feel a sense of belonging. That’s why I want to give back by managing the union’s events for the next academic year. I want to ensure that every student has the same opportunity to connect, unwind, and celebrate the vibrant culture we have at Imperial.
If elected, I will focus on creating an even broader range of events that appeal to all students, whether it’s large-scale social gatherings, department-specific meet-ups, or smaller, more intimate activities. By fostering greater collaboration with the Departmental Societies, I’ll help ensure that every group’s unique needs are met, while creating a cohesive calendar of events. I will also ensure that our Union's traditions are not only upheld but celebrated, creating events that maintain the essence of what makes the RCSU so special. Above all, I will bring a strong focus on communication and transparency, working closely with the rest of the committee to ensure events are both innovative and budget-conscious. With your support, I will make sure that the RCSU continues to be a space where every student feels welcomed, valued, and ready to make the most of their time at Imperial.
