Sedra Afzali
Having benefited immensely from Muslim Medics in my first and second year, I’m excited to give back by running for Technology Lead. The tutorials and revision resources were incredibly helpful during exam season, and the flagship MM dinner was a standout moment in my university journey. What stood out most, though, was the genuinely supportive atmosphere and how willing older years were to help. Being part of such a like-minded, faith-driven group made a big difference, and it’s something I’d love to help strengthen for others.
As Technology Lead, I want to streamline and modernise the digital platforms that keep the society running smoothly. The website is often the first place people go to learn about Muslim Medics, and I want to ensure it’s clear, welcoming, and up-to-date. I also hope to make our digital spaces more interactive — introducing flashcards, video tutorials, and blog posts to support members in different ways. Tech has huge potential to make the society more accessible and inclusive, and I’m excited to use it to support and grow the community.
I’m dedicated, organised, and genuinely enjoy working behind the scenes to make things run better. I also have experience in design and love coming up with creative ways to boost engagement. Through working with ISoc on Freshers Fortnight and Charity Week, I became more connected with the wider community and developed strong time management and collaboration skills.
With sincerity and purpose, I hope to help shape a more connected and impactful Muslim Medics.
