General Practice (ICSM): Publicity Officer

I am excited to stand for the position of Publicity Officer for the General Practice Society. I believe that my skills and previous experiences make me well-suited to this role.

As School Liaison Officer for Imperial’s Teddy Bear Hospital Society, I coordinated with local primary schools to organise visits. This year alone, our sessions reached over 500 children. I was also involved in recruiting new schools, and through my communication and organisation skills, we were able to expand our outreach to three new schools.

I was also involved in the subcommittee for the GP and LMAP Conference this year. In this role, I contacted and recruited GPs for our workshops and worked collaboratively with the other members of the committee and subcommittee to ensure that the conference ran smoothly.

In addition, I have years of tutoring experience, teaching GCSE students and delivering lectures for MedEd and Muslim Medics.

If elected, I aim to:

  • Design engaging and accessible publicity materials that advertise events in advance.
  • Expand the society’s outreach by using a variety of social media platforms to connect with a broader audience.
  • Work closely with the committee to promote the important and unique role of general practice in medicine.

Overall, my creativity and previous experience in committee roles, combined with my strong communication and organisation skills, will help me to promote the fantastic work of this society.

Thank you for your consideration.
