Consultancy: Vice President: Technology

Hi everyone,
I’m Fuchun, a second-year Chemistry student, and I’m excited to run for Vice President: Technology at the Consultancy Society.

Over the past year, I’ve grown more and more interested in how technology is changing the world of consulting, from how companies analyse data to how they solve problems more efficiently. While I’m still learning, I’m eager to help others in society grow their confidence with technology,y too, no matter their starting point.

I’ve enjoyed using digital tools in my own studies and side projects, and I’ve seen firsthand how simple, well-used technology can make a big difference in how we approach a problem. As VP: Technology, I want to make tech in consulting feel less intimidating and more accessible for everyone.

If elected, I will:

  • Organise beginner-friendly sessions introducing tools like Excel, PowerPoint, and simple coding relevant to consulting tasks.

  • Help create a library of past resources and useful materials that members can use to build their skills at their own pace.

  • Work with other committee members to run events that explore how technology fits into areas like sustainability, health, and finance.

  • Make sure our events and resources are easy to access and well-organised, using tools that support the society’s growth.

I believe you don’t need to be an expert to make a meaningful contribution—you just need the willingness to learn and the drive to help others. I’d love the opportunity to bring that mindset to the Consultancy Society.

Looking forward to the journey ahead!
