Tharanya Appulingam

Vanakkam! My name is Tharanya and I would love to apply for the role of head of sponsorship for next year as I have really enjoyed being a part of Tsoc through subcommittee this year. Through being a part of committee, I hope to continue being involved in Tsoc.

I understand the importance of this role in securing sponsors for Megamaalai and organising the sponsorship hunt, in which I will perform to the best of my ability. Being part of the sponsorship hunt this year allowed me to gain insight into what the role consists of and has given me experience and confidence in taking on this role, interacting with local shops to engage their interest.

As part of my school's medical society, I invited speakers to give talks, showing my ability to interact with externals which is useful in contacting external companies for sponsorship. Subcommittee has allowed me to demonstrate my teamworking skills which has a key role in being able to build partnerships. For example, being a part of the admin team for organising the games night, I worked with other people to complete tasks such as the risk assessment.

I would really appreciate and love the chance to be able to be a part of Tsoc committee and give back to the society for making me feel welcomed and giving me memories to cherish. I hope that you consider me for the role of head of Sponsorship. Thank you!
