Hemali Matharu

Hiya

I’m Hemali, one of the 3rd year medics, and I’d love to be your dance secretary next year! Joining ICSM Dance as soon as I got to uni was one of the best choices I made. I’ve enjoyed these last 4 years in dance (yes 4- perks of doing 1st year twice :)) ,especially being outreach officer this year!

I had so much fun setting up and getting to take part in all the summer workshops (a record of 8!) and would love to get even more involved in the club next year! Being in committee this year has given me a better understanding of how the society runs in the background to keep everything running smoothly and insight into the role of secretary.

As outreach officer I perfected the art of sliding into DMs-perfect for reminding people of deadlines, and so I would love to use these skills to keep everyone updated and entertained in our weekly newsletter- who doesn’t want to unlock a new side to Hemali? I may not bd te fastest typer but that’s what my apple pencil’s for- don’t worry it converts my writing to text so you won’t have to attempt deciphering my chicken scratch

I think it would be great to expand the role of secretary this year to include other miscellaneous jobs like sorting out stash and any admin . In essence I love ICSM Dance so much and would love to give back to the society! xx
