Chinese Students & Scholars Association: Head of Cultural Department

  1. 延续与创新结合:保留传统节庆活动的温度,同时融入现代元素,策划如“文化手作工坊”“中英双语诗会”等项目,让文化在交流中传承,在互动中生动;
  2. 提升参与体验:通过小而美、轻松互动的方式,让更多同学愿意参与其中,真正感受到文化的乐趣,建立友谊、收获归属;

Hello everyone,

My name is Meng Zhu, a PhD student from the Department of Materials. I’m honored to announce my candidacy for Head of Cultural Department of Imperial Chinese Students & Scholars Association.

Culture is not only a shared emotional anchor, but also a warm bridge that connects us all. I have organized and participated in a variety of creative events: laser engraving competitions, dumpling-making parties, origami workshops, and poetry exchange sessions. These experiences have equipped me with strong coordination and execution skills, and more importantly, taught me how to create an engaging atmosphere and spark resonance across different cultural backgrounds.

As a candidate for Cultural Minister, my goal is to design diverse, meaningful, and enjoyable cultural events for Chinese students at Imperial.

If elected, I will dedicate myself to:

  1. Blending tradition with innovation: Organizing events like “DIY Cultural Crafts Workshops” and “Bilingual Poetry Nights” to keep culture alive through exchange and interaction.
  2. Enhancing participation experience: Creating relaxed and interactive events to engage more students, promote cultural appreciation, and foster community.
  3. Strengthening collaboration and outreach: Working with other communities to expand influence, promote cultural exchange, and showcase the creativity and spirit of Chinese students at Imperial.

I truly believe that the power of culture doesn’t lie in grand gestures, but in its ability to evoke emotion, inspire connection, and bring people together. I sincerely hope for your support!

Thank you!

Meng Zhu
