Throughout my 1st year, muslim medics has played an integral role. Not only did they save my exams (alhamdulilah- because cramming gastro morning of was NOT the one😭!!) but also, they allowed me to settle in as a fresher. I’ve been so inspired by the MM team, their sense of community is unmatched, and so this is something that I’d love to be a part of. MM was 1 of the reasons I chose imperial, their dedication to helping those within imperial but others too is beautiful to see - may Allah reward the team’s efforts. Throughout the past year, I’ve realised how passionate I am in helping others, particularly through helping people get into medicine (shoutout Medology 🙏🏼). I believe I’m suitable for Social Sec as I’m someone that LOVES people facing positions, from sales to successful charity events. I believe I’ve gained skills to captivate people and engage them, so the sponsors better watch out. I understand the efforts that go into planning which is crucial to good events (if I get this position, that MM dinner will be amazing InshAllah). Moving forward I aim to create a community that bridges the older and younger years through events ranging from competitive challenges, chai nights and also those where we can give back to the community inshAllah such as volunteering (think BADG but all year round). I also have experience in social media and love documenting things, so there'll probably be a cinematic video to reflect on later. :)
