Hey, I’m Cormac and I'm running to be your C+S Editor for 2025-26!!

My first year wouldn’t have been anywhere near as amazing as it was had I not been involved in ICSM societies. I have a genuine interest in what is going on within each society and would love to publicise the amazing work that is being done by everyone involved. Having strong connections to majority of the ICSM societies and a real passion for sharing their hard work and dedication, I believe I am well-equipped for this role.

Continuing the high-quality work of the current C+S Editor, Meena, and improving responses from societies that receive SMHA funding would be my main aims. I would do this by establishing early connections with each society and giving firm reminders of how impactful SMHA funding is. Persistent reminders and genuine connections with societies will hopefully increase the number reports we receive and give each society a good chance at obtaining SMHA funding.

Another key point I'd address is engagement with the C+S section. Implementing new types of articles or games, such as a C+S crossword, could improve engagement from both the societies themselves and Gazette readers. Increased collaboration with the other editors could also improve engagement and provide smoother transitions between each section of the Gazette.

Being a Gazette fresher contributor this year has equipped me with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed at this role and I hope to demonstrate this next year.
