Hi, I’m Aarushi and I’m running for Bands Coordinator!

Over the last two years I have been a member of choir, chamber choir and bands and truly feel like a valued member of the ICSM Music family. In particular, I’ve loved improving my singing, learning new instruments, and performing with ICSM Bands and I would love to give back to my favourite ensemble in ICSM Music for my final undergraduate year!

Firstly, why would I be a good bands coordinator?
I believe that I have shown dedication, tenacity and flexibility during my time in multiple ICSM Music ensembles which is vital for being a reliable member of the committee. Additionally, being a BMB student means that a medic band coordinator and I can distribute responsibilities as needed during each other’s busy periods to ensure band members always feel supported. I believe the best of bands happens when band members are confident and I will strive to give them what they need. I want to focus on three main areas as the new band coordinator:

1 - With how many gigs Bands performs at over the year organisation is key
2 - Bands can feel like a big community but also cozy compared to other ensembles, so I want to provide support for everyone
3 - The Bands gig was a great opportunity to showcase bands to wider audiences and I would love to get more recognition for Bands
