Data Science: Vice Chair

Hey everyone,

I’m Fuchun, a second-year chemistry student, and I’m running for Vice President of the Data Science Society.

I believe that the strength of a society lies in its people. As Vice President, my focus will be on building a space where everyone feels supported, whether you're just discovering data science or already deep into projects and competitions.

Here’s what I’d love to bring to the role:

Accessible and Inclusive Learning
I want to ensure all members have access to beginner-friendly resources, practical workshops, and hands-on opportunities. Learning should feel exciting, not intimidating.
Supportive Collaboration
I'll work to introduce more peer-led sessions, team challenges, and discussion spaces where members can comfortably share ideas, ask questions, and grow together.
A Stronger Sense of Community
From casual socials to collaborative events with other societies, I want to make it easier for everyone to connect, not just around data, but around shared interests and ambitions.
Listening and Responding
I’ll make space for regular feedback and input from members. Whether it’s through quick polls or open forums, I want to make sure your ideas shape the future of society.

My goal is to support a society that’s welcoming, vibrant, and genuinely useful to everyone involved. Data science has so much potential, but it's the community we build around it that really makes it meaningful.
