Obstetrics & Gynaecology: Early Years Academic Officer

Hi, I'm Graziele, a 3rd year medical student with a strong interest in women’s health, I am excited to run for the position of Early Years Academic Officer.

Even though we don’t get formal O&G teaching until later on, there are so many ways to get involved early, and I’d love to help make that easier. This year, I attended the O&G Society Conference and several journal clubs, which made me realise how interesting and diverse the specialty is. These experiences really encouraged me to explore O&G further, and I want other students to feel equally welcome doing the same.

If elected, I’d focus on:

Promoting journal clubs to early-year students and helping make them feel approachable, regardless of your level of knowledge.
Signposting beginner-friendly talks and events, and feeding back to the committee on how we can make these even more inclusive.
Creating a supportive environment where students can ask questions, share interests, and explore O&G without feeling like they need to have prior experience or clinical exposure.

I’m friendly, organised, and genuinely passionate about encouraging early engagement with O&G. I’d love to represent early-year students and help you feel part of the society from the beginning of your medical journey.
