RCSU: Deputy Science Challenge Chair

The Annual Science Challenge does something truly important: it brings excitement back into science! Whether by sparking curiosity in high schoolers or encouraging current Imperial students to take a break from their deadlines and explore topics beyond their syllabus, the Science Challenge reminds us why we fell in love with science in the first place.

That’s why I’m applying to be Deputy Science Challenge Chair—I want to help make next year’s competition just as engaging and inspiring as this years was.

This year’s innovative decision to incorporate AI showed how the Science Challenge keeps up with the times, staying connected to the forefront of scientific progress. I’d love to support and help shape this evolution further—by contributing to the organisation of the event.

I believe that science communication is important, which is why you will often see me volunteering at events like the Great Exhbition Road Festivial. The Science Challenge is another one of those brilliant way to encourage us to actively research, reflect, and express science in accessible, creative ways and I would love to hlpe organise it.

I’d be excited to work alongside the Chair and the rest of the team to help arrange the event, support participants, and get the message out to try and get the whole RCSU community involved!
