CGCU: Communications Chair

Hi! I’m Wissale, and I’m running to be your next CGCU Communications Chair!

I’m part of the Faculty of Engineering, and I care deeply about making sure students feel informed, included, and genuinely heard. I want to make communication across the union feel more natural, more relevant, and more student-focused.

Before coming to Imperial, I was the academic representative for Physics and Engineering at Warwick University, and it was one of the most rewarding roles I’ve had. Students knew they could come to me with concerns, and I made sure their feedback reached the right people. I got great feedback because people felt listened to, and that’s exactly the approach I’d take as Communications Chair.

I’ve used a wide range of tools and platforms to help get messages across, but more importantly, I know how to communicate in a way that cuts through the noise. It’s not just about sending updates, it’s about making sure people actually see, understand, and care about what’s being shared.

If I’m elected, I’ll focus on:

Making it easier for students to find out what IS going on across CGCU.
Helping societies and departments promote their events more effectively.
Keeping communication clear, consistent, and worth paying attention to.

I’m not here to overpromise, just to do the basics better, make things clearer, and help students feel more connected to what’s happening around them.
