Yamid Hossain
Hi I'm Yamid. I am currently a first year medical student and am running for ICSM coding's education officer role. Whilst I am studying medicine, I do have a history of programming and have been programming since I was 9 years old. I also have experience running societies from when I was in sixth form, namely the medical society where I ran teaching sessions and helped younger students with their applications to medicine.
As a future doctor, I believe coding isn't just a hobby—it's a powerful tool that will transform how we practice medicine. That's why I'm running for Education Officer with a clear mission: to bridge the gap between programming skills and medical practice.
As education officer, I endeavour to increase the focus on practical programming and how programming could enhance your medical careers as well as beyond just clinical appications - as demonstrated by previous committee members.
I will do this by introducing teaching sessions on:
- Python integration in Excel for research data analysis and clinical audits
- R programming for statistical analysis in medical research
- Database management for clinical audits
- Automation tools for repetitive tasks
I believe that I have the necessary skills and experience to make an excellent education officer for ICSM coding and I hope you make the right choice in voting for me. Thank you for reading!
